I went to a show a while back, and throughout the entire show the bands were complaining that there
weren’t more people there to see them. I couldn’t help but think to myself, “Well, you’re not offering
anything to anybody. Your songs are about propping yourselves up and inflating your egos. If you would
just give people something real, then maybe they would come out and support you.” So many bands are in
this just to get their 15 minutes. This song is also about the kids I grew up with who have turned their
backs on music. They’ve lost sight of a music scene and community where people are there to support each
other. They would rather waste away in a bar somewhere, drinking their lives away.
